I live out of state and used Sarah for our outdoor wedding in Bozeman. From start to finish, Sarah went over and above to ensure a smooth event, leaving no worries or concerns for the bride. She was very flexible, offered creative ideas, and even offered to prep extra food for our Sunday brunch. Most importantly, she is passionate about her craft and it shows as soon as you take a bite of the succulent ribs or festive salad. All of our guests commented on the quality and presentation of the food – and we had some picky eaters in the group! She satisfied all of them. Sarah is personable, relaxed and organized which are key attributes when hiring a catering professional. She and her team had to make due with a fairly small kitchen - without the tools of a professional kitchen. I think the kitchen looked better after they left than it did before they came.

Her innovative culinary skills and technical abilities are unparalleled. She is professional through and through, yet so wonderfully down to earth, it is just as much fun talking to Sarah and watching her cook! She’s a great teacher and loves to share recipes, too! Her imaginative cuisine exceeded our expectations. Sarah and her wonderful staff spent a week cooking for our large group of family and friends - three unique meals a day plus snacks, appetizers, and specialty beverages… all of which were superb and phenomenal. Sarah listened to the types of food we liked and then made menu selections 100 times better than anything we had considered. All the fish and meats were fresh and tender, the vegetables and fruit at their seasonal best, and the savory baked goods could not be matched. Sarah was also generous in making delicious options for those with dietary restrictions. Definitely, the meals were the highlight of our week and deeply loved by all of us! Sarah, you are the best and we look forward to being with you again!
- Jean Branan, Summer 2012Sarah has me eating things I don’t even like, and loving them. I don’t like potato salad but after one taste heaped that irresistible salad made with potatoes on my plate. I don’t like chocolate or dessert but just ate that entire chocolate mousse dessert and am eyeing a second. And on and on. She has catered a numerous events I have been involved in, I have learned to try everything she puts out and haven’t tasted anything yet that wasn’t delicious. She also adds little niceties and extras, and is super pleasant to be around. The guests love her and her staff and her food.

Having phenomenal food was so important to us and from day one she was worked creatively with our budget and ideas to give each dish a special twist. She went above and beyond for us by working with Alaskan halibut brought in from family, creating the tastiest and most beautiful wedding cake ever and tracking down my favorite dessert. She and her staff worked with the venue/rentals we had perfectly and our reception went off without a hitch – nothing but compliments from our guests all evening and weeks after on how fabulous everything was! Through the entire process and long distance planning Sarah had us at complete ease. It was a pleasure to have worked with her and highly recommend her services!

Working with chef Knecht was a much more creative, interactive experience than we thought possible. Together, we bounced ideas off each other and developed a unique menu that honored our tastes and the amazing food that Montana and Alaska provide. And, she definitely delivered on the day of the wedding. The serving stations were beautifully laid out, and guests were eagerly awaiting seconds. After the wedding numerous guests commented on how amazing the food was and how unique the dishes were. We were delighted to have such an amazing spread of Spanish-inspired plates to compliment our day…it seemed so fitting! We can give nothing but the highest praise and recommendation for chef Knecht for any event, large or small.

The first time I took a class from Sarah a friend encouraged me to go with her. I thought it would be some gourmet food class I would not ever do at home, my friend said come and we will eat. It was great food and I came away encouraged to experiment, and not be bound by a recipe. At “Dinners to Remember” Sarah again showed us how to make common simple dishes into something special without a lot of fuss. Every time I take a class from Sarah we have a new family favorite “Dinner to Remember”.

- Terry Johnson, Winter 2012For ethical and health reasons, I’ve changed my eating habits over the past year. I’ve eliminated dairy and grains. I eat mostly sustainably produced local grass-fed meat, organic vegetables and free range local eggs.(for those interested, check out ‘Paleo Diet’) I feel much better and really enjoy eating this way. It is always a challenge to go to social functions where there is a buffet of yummy foods and nothing that fits my food plan. Enter Chef Sarah. I have been thrilled to find, at the last two such functions I attended, a wide array of delicious food that totally fit my food plan. I will ask from now on, when invited, “Who is your Chef?”, and if it’s Chef Sarah, I know I don’t have to pack my own snacks!

Chef Sarah assisted with planning our annual employee Christmas Party for a large group of hungry railroaders. She was able create a hearty menu within the budget allotted and ensure food was plentiful (and delicious!). Not a light task, as the final guest count kept escalating! Along with being pleasurable to work with; Sarah is very confident and professional in her planning process, which leads to a successful event! I purchased Sarah’s new cookbook, hot off the press in December. I love all of the personal touches added throughout, along with the “Yumtwist” variations offered. This book is very creative and well put together; I am excited to add it to my collection! As a dedicated recipe follower, I am looking forward to “stepping out of my box” and “Yumtwist” it up a bit! She was able to make gluten-free, dairy-free, and many foods-free meals for people with severe food sensitivities. Sarah took extra time and care to make sure that everyone was taken care of and that no meals were cross-contaminated. She also offered her expertise, knowledge, and sense of humor to the group events. She was a true partner in making the retreat a success, and I'm so happy she was able to cook for us.
