I met my husband in the infamous ‘Kidos Cave’ of Alaska. Across the room I saw him, he wasn’t even looking my way, but I found the space between us gone moments later. He turned around and I introduced myself and less than an hour later we were holding hands. I was literally drawn to him, like a flower to the sun. The night ended and my heart wouldn’t let me breath until I saw him again… Which was 7 months later!!! We all have our weakness and mine is my heart, it powers me and shuts me down. That being said I listen when it speaks. Whether it is my son’s sweet smile or my daughters laughter; love is fearless.
My life has led me to teach and share my passion for cooking. I do it with pleasure, but in the kitchen I am also my hearts slave. It beats to a rhythm and I follow with smooth movements. I speak freely in the hope that others will smile and learn something… Anything. We taste and adjust. Chop and saute. Mix and bake. We make mouthwatering dishes that will be savored to the last bite. We surprise our friends and family by creating new dishes and menus. We take risks and sometimes we make horrible dishes that only end up in the trash!
Nobody’s perfect, we all make mistakes, some are forgiven and others we can not forget. Words can lift us up and shine the light on our path or they can crush us like a bug and leave us all squashed and in the darkness. Nobody’s perfect and we all make mistakes. I remind you as I remind myself. Be kind to those you meet and those you know for their hearts are beating just as yours and their hearts are hungering just as yours for love and friendship.
